What is ego depletion?

Ego depletion refers to the idea that our willpower is limited and to the state of a temporary reduction of willingness to engage in volitional (def: relative to willingness) action. This can be related to Decision fatigue as it often has the same causes, symptoms and consequences.

Adopting new habits is one of the most powerful way to reduce ego depletion, as an habit is define by the fact that a certain action don’t need any willpower to be achieved anymore.
